Dos/Ddos

I just wonder what the different between Dos and Ddos is. And does anyone know how to do it in the right way? I know that if you Dos a website, you crash the website. I'm using LOIC to do it, but it only crashes for me and no one else... Do I have a wrong program or a fake one? :L Please help...

Lollolo I love it when this happens it's means yes Is prob fake I guess ppl used this trick for RS ages ago I remember those days lol:)

A DOS is a single attack on somebody's IP address of host. A DDoS is multiple attacks :P
